The two-story 130,000 sft retail anchor building at the Security Plaza Mall was repurposed for a Church assembly use along with a consortium of retail, business, community center and educational uses.
The building was evaluated for its compliance with the current building, life safety and accessibility codes and regulations. A detailed condition assessment was performed to establish the best practice for the in-phase rehabilitation. This resulted in upgrading the sprinkler and fire alarm systems, design of new mechanical systems per individual uses, adding new exit egress corridors, introducing a new grand stair and a new stretcher compliant elevator within the two-story atrium which is central to the entire footprint of the building.
